In order to make your holiday special and hassle-free, we like to work together with you to make sure we take care of all your ski requirements, like pre arranging ski lessons. Whatever your level, we can help pre book the right ski or snowboard lessons in advance for you, should you require them.

From past experience, we recommend opting for private ski lessons as opposed to ski school. We feel that is has definitely proved more beneficial for guests. Private lessons are much more intense and flexible where personal progression will be faster in a much shorter time.

Private lessons
For private ski or snowboard lessons, we work alongside Richard Mathonet, a highly professional English speaking private instructor who has worked in Chatel for over 20 years. If anybody knows the area, then Richard does! Whatever your level, Richard is a fully experienced and French-trained ski and snowboard instructor who can offer lessons on a one-to-one basis or in a small private group just for your party. We have used Richard from the very start of setting up our ski chalet and previous guests who have experienced a lesson with him have always commented on his professional approach to teaching and the benefits of having a private lesson.

We do understand that private one-to-one lessons can be expensive, however, it is definitely value for money when learning at a quicker rate.

Ski school
If you are interested in ski school, we recommend the British Alpine Ski and Snowboard School (BASS), a relatively new ski school in Chatel. BASS can offer affordable small group lessons, so there is no-one standing at the back of the class trying to hear the instructor! They are all English speaking instructors, teaching both skiing and snowboarding. In addition to ski school, they also offer ski clinics for those who are experienced skiers and want to go that step further.

Kids lessons
Having fun and enjoying the snow is the key factor when little ones are learning to ski! Children too can benefit enormously from having private ski lessons. Alternatively, for children aged between 3 – 6 year olds, the Villages des Marmottons is specifically set up to encourage little ones to ski and learn in a fun way.
