Chatel is only 500 miles from Calais, with a journey time of approximately nine hours. The recommended route by the AA is to enter Chatel from the Swiss side i.e. staying on the motorway round the north of Lake Geneva, until you reach the town of Monthey where you start to climb up the mountain. As you leave La Chapelle, heading towards Chatel, you will pass the La Panthiaz gondola station on your right hand side. Continue until you reach the hamlet La Ville du Nant. Take the next turning on your left and Chalet Rustique is the first chalet on the left.
